Ainslie joined Ellerston in May 2024 from Trovio Group where she was a Data Scientist & Portfolio Manager. She has over 18 years’ asset management experience and has worked with Vimal and Tom at both Trovio and Pendal.
Ainslie has a research background in Engineering/Physics and has worked with quantitative signals since doing a PhD in Engineering at Cambridge University. She has had roles in finance in New York and Sydney in a quantitative / data scientist capacity – utilising options theory, machine learning tools and various programming languages as required.
Prior to Pendal, Ainslie was at Lonsec where she was the senior data scientist focused on Machine Learning. She has also worked as a senior data scientist for Coolabah Capital in Sydney, where she was responsible for building & maintaining custom analytics for fixed income investments.
Ainslie was also a quantitative strategist at Goldman Sachs in New York for the Special Situations Group during the Global Financial Crisis where she built custom analytics for the desk’s investments in residential mortgage backed securities and commodity-related positions.
She holds a PhD in Engineering focused on Signal Processing, from Cambridge University (King’s College). She has an Honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and an Honours degree in Science majoring in Physics from the University of Western Australia.
