Vinay has over 12 years of financial markets experience and joined Ellerston in early 2020. Vinay is primarily responsible for India country coverage and is based in the firm’s Sydney office. Prior to joining Ellerston, Vinay was Head of Telco and Media research at Venture Insights in Sydney, a leading TMT-focused research and consulting firm. Before moving to Australia, Vinay was a sell-side analyst at Jaypee Capital in Mumbai, India, where he was ranked in the top quartile for research analysts by the Asia Money Brokers poll. Vinay has also worked on the buy-side for an India-focused hedge fund earlier in his career.
Vinay is also a successful entrepreneur and was part of the founding team at an e-Health startup. Vinay exited the business in 2016 but his experience as an entrepreneur on the ground in India provides a unique advantage in analysing high growth companies in Asia.
Vinay has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Financial Accounting & Auditing) from the University of Mumbai and a Masters in Finance from ICFAI University in India. He has also completed Level I of the CFA program.
